Dead by Daylight remains one of the most popular asymmetrical multiplayer horror games available on console platforms. Players looking to jump into the fog on PlayStation 4 have several purchasing options depending on their budget and interest in additional content. Understanding the various price points and bundle details helps buyers choose the right version for their gaming setup.
Standard and Digital Edition Pricing
The standard digital version of Dead by Daylight on the PlayStation Store typically retails for around $29.99 USD. Frequent store promotions and seasonal sales often drop this price significantly, making it accessible for new players. Purchasing the digital base game grants access to the core gameplay along with the initial roster of survivors and killers.
Digital purchases on PlayStation 4 also feature cross-generation support for modern consoles. Buying the digital PS4 edition allows players to upgrade to the PS5 version at no extra cost when they transition to new hardware. This seamless upgrade path ensures that your purchase retains its value over time.
Special and Physical Editions Overview
Physical copies of the game, such as the Special Edition, offer extra content bundled directly onto the disc. The Special Edition includes extra chapters like Of Flesh and Mud alongside Spark of Madness, expanding your initial character roster. Physical prices usually range from $15 to $30 depending on whether you buy new or pre-owned copies.
Collectors and horror enthusiasts often search for legacy physical releases like the Nightmare Edition. This version features additional content and iconic chapter add-ons like the Stranger Things chapter. Because certain physical releases are out of print, secondary market prices can fluctuate depending on condition and seller availability.
Bundle Packs and Additional Content
For players who want a massive head start, expanded digital bundles offer substantial savings over individual chapter purchases. Options like the Gold Edition aggregate multiple original chapter packs into a single discounted package. These bundles provide dozens of additional killers and survivors right from the start.
Players can also purchase localized currency or individual chapter DLCs directly through the PlayStation Store. Seasonal events often discount character packs by up to fifty percent throughout the year. Choosing bundled packs is generally the most cost-effective approach for expanding your roster quickly.
